ACCESS and BreezoMeter empower car OEMs to positively impact in-journey health
The partnership will enable OEMs to provide drivers with up-to-date air quality and pollen data during their drive and at their destination
Oberhausen, 21 May 2019 − ACCESS CO., LTD today announced that it has partnered with BreezoMeter, a provider of location-based global air quality and pollen data. Their complete air pollution and pollen solution for data awareness and actionability allows users to take control of the air they breathe, at home, at work, or on-the-go. The partnership will provide drivers and intelligent cars around the world with first-in-class, accurate, and relevant air quality and pollen data in real-time. BreezoMeter's data service will be available as a component of ACCESS’s Twine™ for Car (Twine4Car) infotainment service platform, empowering drivers and intelligent cars to choose healthier routes and destinations.
The partnership responds to the growing concerns over air pollution worldwide where vehicles are seen as a major contributor, especially in urban areas. According to the World Health Organisation, 91% of the world’s population lives in places where air pollution exceeds its guideline limits. While reducing air pollution globally is key to long-term health and environmental improvements, ACCESS and BreezoMeter recognized that there was a way to empower car OEMs to positively influence the lives of global citizens. By integrating relevant location-based air quality data into automotive infotainment systems that consumers already use every day, each journey can be tailored to include the healthiest option as well as the fastest or least distance.
“ACCESS and BreezoMeter both understand that passengers and drivers can be exposed to high levels of air pollution during journeys. Through this partnership, ACCESS and BreezoMeter support the healthy choices of road users by providing accurate air quality and pollen data in real-time from the cloud. With our information at their fingertips, drivers can control their driving environment to reduce their exposure to harmful pollutants present in the ambient air, thus better protecting their health and that of their families.” said Ran Korber, CEO and Co-founder of BreezoMeter.
Twine4Car is a unique solution encompassing connected entertainment and value added services and applications. BreezoMeter features for Twine4Car will include location based air quality and pollen information, color coded heatmaps, localized pollutant information and forecasts for forthcoming pollen and air quality.
“Air quality has become an important topic in international health debates, and OEMs are in a unique position to help their customers control the quality of the air they breathe,” said Dr. Neale Foster, CEO at ACCESS Europe. “Our partnership with BreezoMeter recognizes that air quality is an important issue and car OEMs can make a positive impact. Together we will empower drivers and intelligent cars to ensure car users drive, commute, and travel in healthier, more protected environments.”
